Alvin Bragg
Manhattan District Attorney
One Hogan Place
New York, NY 10013

Dear District Attorney Bragg,

It has been over a year since I first contacted you (see below email), and my family along with all the COVID Orphans are still awaiting your response. We’ve passed the grim three-year anniversary of the moment where the infamous March 25, 2020 order that forced nursing homes to receive COVID patients was enacted, as I mentioned in my most recent op-ed at the Daily News. As we stated in our original letter, attached, my siblings and I would still very much like to meet with you. We believe that we deserve a truthful, transparent, and comprehensive investigation with subpoena power into the nursing home debacle.

We are also including our most recent press release, calling for a fair investigation and sharing all of our own personal research that we have done for the past 3 years. We have compiled a detailed timeline as well as suggested guidelines for the investigation that we are asking for.

I am looking forward to finally clearing the air and setting the record straight. We need your collaboration, as District Attorney, so that we can get the answers we earnestly seek and we can let our loved ones rest in peace.

With great hope I await your acceptance to my invitation!

Sincerely,
Peter Arbeeny

Letter #2

March 27th, 2022

Dear District Attorney Bragg,

We lost our father to COVID-19 due to the former governor’s March 25, 2020, nursing home mandate. My brother and I have been vocal about our loss, appearing in dozens of media outlets over the past 2 years, as well as hosting and leading two high profile events. It was at the first event that Comptroller Lander, as a City Councilmember, was the first to publicly call for the truth as well as justice for those lost loved ones, which now number over 15,000. The 100,000+ grieving family members who were left to pick up the pieces without help from New York State are still looking for answers, answers that you can help provide.

We have had the pleasure of meeting with Attorney General James, State Comptroller DiNapoli, NYC Comptroller Landers, Assemblyman Ron Kim and Public Advocate Williams in our quest for truth and justice. These meetings have been at my beloved father’s home. All these meetings were both extremely cathartic and productive, but more needs to be accomplished. My brother and I attended a private meeting with Governor Hochul, kindly setup by Assemblyman Ron Kim. As you may have read, Governor Hochul acknowledged and apologized to the families in attendance for what we have all endured. She also told us that she supports a re-audit of the nursing home COVID death toll so that years from now when we look back on the effects of the pandemic, we shouldn’t have to start recounting because we don’t know what the actual death toll was.

Our family mission has been to learn the true nursing home death numbers and start a fair, bipartisan investigation into why sending the COVID-positive patients into nursing homes was the first and only strategy for discharged hospital COVID patients and not the absolute last option. Nursing home families deserve full transparency in the interest of public trust and please see the attached timeline that our family made.

I am looking forward to finally clearing the air and setting the record straight. However, this effort would not be complete without you, District Attorney Bragg. My siblings and I wish to extend a heartfelt invitation to you to visit us at our father’s home in Brooklyn. We’d love to share with you our vision for how to make this wrong a right – not just for us, but for all the other COVID orphans affected by the nursing home fiasco. As the District Attorney, you have a chance to restore many people’s faith in democracy. Former governor Cuomo and his team remains on the wrong side of history, and we need to fix the damage lest history repeat itself.

With great hope I await your acceptance to my invitation!

Sincerely,
Peter Arbeeny
